ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Junior outside hitter McKenzie Adams was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Adams guided the Roadrunners (6-2) to their best start since 1988 following a four-set victory at Houston last Friday.

The Schertz native posted her fifth double-double of the season after amassing 20 digs and 17 kills. She also added a pair of blocks and a service ace in the win.

Adams, who was a preseason All-WAC selection, ranks third in the league in kills (3.66) and points (4.06) per set and also ranks eighth with 3.72 digs per stanza.

UTSA takes a four-match winning streak into Monday night's match at Houston Baptist (7-4). First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
