SAN ANTONIO — Junior Brittney Malloy recently was named honorable mention All-National by COBRA Magazine. The publication's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African, Somoan and Tongan descent in hopes of encouraging girls across the country to pursue the sport. She was named to the magazine's All-Southwest Region Team two months ago.
Malloy, a local product out of Warren High School, has been honored by the publication in back-to-back seasons.
The 6-footer led the team and ranked third in the Southland Conference with a .319 hitting percentage last fall. She also ranked second both on the team and in the league with 1.18 blocks per set and averaged 2.1 kills per frame.
