SAN ANTONIO — Four teams earned their way to San Antonio this past weekend and Florida State, Illinois, UCLA and USC will vie for the national title at this week's NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Alamodome.

Hosted by UTSA, San Antonio Sports and the City of San Antonio, the event is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the Alamo City. In addition to the National Semifinals and Championship Match, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) will hold its annual convention downtown.

All the action gets underway at 6 p.m. on Thursday when 12th-seeded Florida State (28-6) takes on ninth seed UCLA (28-6). No. 7 USC (29-4) then will square off with third-seeded Illinois (31-4) two hours later. Saturday's title match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

There still are many all-session tickets available for $52 and that includes all three contests, as well as single-session tickets. Fans can purchase tickets online at NCAA.com and Ticketmaster.com, by calling (800) 745-3000, or visiting the Alamodome box office.

There also is a limited opportunity to obtain FREE tickets to the Championship. Fans can donate a new, unwrapped toy to the USMC Toys for Tots program at participating area AT&T Stores to receive a pair of tickets to either Thursday’s semifinals or Saturday’s championship match. Stores with tickets remaining are located at 13127 San Pedro Avenue (south of Bitters), 8227 State Highway 151 (Westover Hills) and 17503 La Cantera Parkway, Suite 111 (The Rim). Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
