SAN ANTONIO — Junior middle hitter Brittney Malloy recently was named to COBRA Magazine's All-Southwest Region Team. The publication's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African, Samoan and Tongan descent in hopes of encouraging girls across the country to pursue the sport.
Malloy, a local product out of Warren High School, has been honored by the publication in back-to-back seasons.
The 6-footer led the team and ranked third in the Southland Conference with a .319 hitting percentage this season. She also ranked second both on the team and in the league with 1.18 blocks per set and averaged 2.1 kills per stanza.
