· Louisiana Tech's institution of selective admissions has resulted in high graduation rates, one of the highest in the state for the general student body as well as athletics.

· Louisiana Tech has cutting edge research facilities for nano-technology, biomedical engineering and a center for entrepreneurship and information technology.

· More than $200 million has been spent on construction and renovation of campus facilities, including the new Charles Wyly Athletics Center.

· The Institute for Micromanufacturing (IfM), the most significant research facility at Louisiana Tech, focuses on the creation of structures, devices, or systems which feature sizes on the order of nanometers and micrometers and include attention to design, fabrication, inspection, testing, assembly and packaging.

· The Center for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Science (CyBERS) is located in a donated former hospital close to the main campus. · An extensive and growing research unit boasting an entrepreneurial edge offers a wide learning foundation for the doctor of business administration degree (D.B.A.) in the College of Administration and Business (CAB). The CAB has a long-standing tradition of excellence, demonstrated by its 50-plus years of accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Over the past six years, CAB has achieved remarkable enrollment growth with a 44 percent increase in graduate and undergraduate students.

· The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters basketball program has participated in 27 NCAA Tournaments, including 25 straight at one point, and it has advanced to 13 Final Fours, playing in eight National Championship Games and winning three national titles.

· Former men’s basketball star Karl Malone is the second all-time leading scorer in the history of the National Basketball Association and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
