Roadrunners to conclude busy week on Sunday at Texas-Pan American
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will wrap up a busy week of action on Sunday when it travels down to the Rio Grande Valley for an 11 a.m. match at Texas-Pan American.
The Roadrunners (7-7) have won their previous two outings this week against Liberty (4-3 on Tuesday) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-0 on Wednesday) and will look to get over .500 for the first time this spring.
Miriam Rosell Canudas continues to pace UTSA on both the singles and doubles courts. The freshman from Barcelona, Spain, has won her last six singles outings at the No. 2 position and is a team-leading 11-3 this season. She also has teamed up with Jacobea Junger at the top doubles spot for a 9-1 mark, including eight consecutive wins.
Texas-Pan American (12-5) saw its program-record six-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 4-1 loss at Nicholls, but it rebounded the following day with a 4-1 victory against Oral Roberts in Thibodaux, La.
Reegan Greenwood owns a team-leading 13 singles wins for the Broncs, while the doubles tandems of Greenwood and Katia Stavroulaki and Didi Fatchikova and Mariana Ranzahuer also have posted a total of 11 victories at the second and third spots, respectively.
The Roadrunners' Friday home match with St. Edward's was cancelled.
