UTSA to host St. Edward's on Sunday afternoon
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will play on its home court for the first time in three weeks when it opens a three-match home stand against NCAA Division II's 46th-ranked St. Edward’s at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Roadrunners (5-7) saw their five-match road trip come to an end on Thursday afternoon with a narrow 4-3 loss to former Southland and Western Athletic Conference foe UT Arlington.
Miriam Rosell Canudas improved to a team-leading 9-3 this season with her fourth consecuitve singles victory. The freshman also paired with Jacobea Junger to win their sixth consecutive match at the No. 1 doubles position.
Meanwhile, the Hilltoppers (1-4) dropped a 9-0 decision on Tuesday to Tyler Junior College in Waco. The Hilltoppers are scheduled to face Trinity on Saturday before taking on the Roadrunners.
UTSA defeated St. Edward’s by a score of 5-2 in the last outing on Feb. 12, 2011.
