SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue Southland Conference play on Wednesday when it travels to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a 2 p.m. match.

The Roadrunners (7-4, 2-1 SLC) have won two of their last three matches and are coming off a 4-2 victory against Nicholls last Saturday in New Braunfels. UTSA picked up all four points in singles competition.

Freshman Irene Gandara Gonzalez, who has won four consecutibe singles tilts, boasts a team-leading 8-3 record to lead the Birds. Meanwhile, the duos of senior Stefanie Peana and sophomore Isabelle Jonsson and juniors Natalie Hand and Kavya Menon each have netted five victories in doubles play.

The Islanders (6-2, 1-1 SLC) dropped a 4-3 decision at Northwestern State on March 3. The squad was scheduled to play Nicholls last Sunday, but the match was rained out. Mirna Cicak sports a 6-1 mark in singles competition, including wins in her last five outings, while all three doubles teams are 4-1 this spring.
