UTSA falls to Northwestern State on Sunday, 6-1

SAN ANTONIO —  UTSA dropped a 6-1 home decision to Northwestern State on Sunday.

The Lady Demons (8-2, 3-1 SLC) swept the doubles competition and won five of the six singles matches for the six-point victory.

The Roadrunners' (4-6, 1-2 SLC) lone victory came at No. 2 singles, as junior Micaela Silva posted a 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) win against Adna Curukovic.

Junior Stefanie Peana won the second frame of her top flight match, but she lost in three sets to Olga Bazhanova, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.

UTSA will wrap up its current four-game home stand on Thursday when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (5-2, 3-1 SLC) at 2 p.m.
