SAN ANTONIO — UTSA returns to the court after a two-week hiatus when it begins Southland Conference play this weekend in the Bayou State. The Roadrunners will travel to Nicholls for an 11 a.m. contest on Saturday before taking on Southeastern Louisiana at noon in Baton Rouge (match moved due to inclement weather) the next day.

The Roadrunners (3-3) saw a three-match losing streak come to an end when they last were on the court at Santa Clara on Feb. 20.

UTSA has been paced this season by junior Micaela Silva, who owns a 4-2 mark in singles play. The Lima, Peru, native dropped back-to-back matches to start the year, but she since has rebounded to win four in a row, including the last three in straight sets. Meanwhile, junior Stefanie Peana and freshman Isabelle Jonsson form the Roadrunners' top doubles tandem with a 3-1 record.

Nicholls (4-1, 0-1 SLC), too, has not played since Feb. 20 when it fell, 5-2, against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Natalia Zamora boasts a perfect 4-0 ledger in singles play and she also is an important cog in the Colonels' top doubles team. Paired up with Florina Nosca, the duo has won all four of its matches this spring.

Southeastern Louisiana (3-2) will be opening up its conference slate on Sunday. The Lady Lions picked up a 5-2 win at Southern to move above .500 on the year in their last outing. Audrey Chelini leads Southeastern with a perfect 5-0 record in singles action, while Morgane Dadot and Nina Schmied are 4-1 in doubles play.
