SAN ANTONIO — After splitting a pair of home matches last weekend, UTSA will return to the court with two more contests this weekend against Incarnate Word and Louisiana-Lafayette.
The Roadrunners will face the Cardinals at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Clarence Mabry Tennis Center in midtown before the Ragin’ Cajuns visit the UTSA Tennis Center for an 11 a.m. tilt the following day.
UTSA (1-4) earned their first victory of the season last Saturday with a 5-2 victory against McNeese State. Isabelle Jonsson was named Conference USA Player of the Week on Tuesday after winning all four of her matches last weekend.
Incarnate Word (0-1) fell by a score of 4-3 against St. Mary’s last Saturday. The Cardinals, who were 11-10 a year ago, received victories from Kelsey Reblin, Jennifer Betancourt, and Taryn Strahl, who led the team with 13 singles wins last season.
Meanwhile, Louisiana-Lafayette (1-0) won their first match of the season after beating Jackson State last Saturday, 4-3. The Ragin' Cajuns went 14-12 last spring and were led by Nicole Breaux, who posted 19 singles triumphs as a freshman.
