UTSA to open five-match road trip on Thursday at Stephen F. Austin
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will begin a five-match road trip on Thursday when it travels to Stephen F. Austin for an 11 a.m. contest at the Schlief Tennis Complex.
The Roadrunners (5-5) are coming off a 4-3 victory against another former Southland Conference opponent, Sam Houston State, on March 3. The win snapped UTSA's three-match losing streak.
Isabelle Jonsson and Jacobea Junger both sport 7-3 records in singles competition. Junger has won her last two outings at the top spot, while Jonsson was victorious in her last match at the No. 2 position.
Meanwhile, the duo of Jonsson and Alena Shichkova has collected four wins at No. 1 doubles.
The Ladyjacks (5-7) are coming off an upset win against No. 69 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Sunday.
Malena Gordo, Julia Lorca and Valeria Terentyeva all have posted five wins in singles action, while Gordo and Terentyeva have collected three triumphs at the top doubles spot.
Stephen F. Austin swept the two-match season series with UTSA a year ago, including a 4-0 victory in the opening round of the Southland Tournament.
