SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will return to the diamond this weekend in a pivotal three-game series at McNeese State. The set opens at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 3 p.m. tilt the next afternoon and Sunday's finale is schedule for 1 p.m.

The Roadrunners (22-27, 13-14 SLC) were swept last weekend by No. 25 Texas State and dropped into a sixth-place tie in the Southland Conference standings. UTSA sits one game ahead of the Cowboys, who are 24-26 overall and 12-15 in league play.

Freshman Riley Good continues to lead UTSA at the plate. Good owns a .349 batting average and is second among the nation's freshmen with 74 hits. Senior Tyler Carpenter hit .588 (10-for-17) last week with a double, a triple, a homer and two RBIs.

McNeese State took two of three games from Lamar last weekend to pull into an eighth-place tie with Nicholls. Seth Granger paces the Cowboys at the plate with a .378 batting average, which ranks third in the circuit, and he also is second in the league with 76 hits.

The Roadrunners hold a 30-26 all-time advantage against the Cowboys and they have won 12 consecutive meetings (14 of 15 overall). UTSA's last loss in the series came more than five years ago (April 2, 2006).
