UTSA to travel north on Tuesday to face I-35 rival Texas State
SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off a three-game sweep of Louisiana Tech, UTSA will begin a five-game road trip at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at I-35 rival Texas State. The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
In the three-game sweep of the Bulldogs, the Roadrunners (19-9) outscored LA Tech by a combined score of 19-6. Mike Warren extended his consecutive reached base streak to 22 games and he was one of four Roadrunners to hit .400 in the series with a .417 average. Horacio Correa III led the way at .538, while RJ Perucki and John Welborn tallied averages of .500 and .455, respectively. Perucki is now hitting a team-best .371 in Conference USA play.
UTSA was equally impressive on the mound, as Nolan Trabanino improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season and he helped lead the pitching staff to a 1.87 ERA last weekend.
Texas State (16-11) leads the all-time series, 51-29, and the Bobcats have won 13 of the last 15 meetings, including taking two out of three in last season’s three-game series when both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
