SAN ANTONIO — RJ Perucki went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored and Justin Anderson threw five shutout innings to give UTSA a three-game season-opening sweep of St. Peter's Sunday at Roadrunner Field with a 14-0 seven-inning victory.

Mitchell Matulia got UTSA (3-0) on the scoreboard first with a one-out RBI double to center to plate Grant Gibbs from first. John Welborn followed with a single up the middle to bring Matulia around and give the Roadrunners a 2-0 lead.

An inning later Mike Warren's three-run double to left center extended the UTSA lead to 5-0 after three.

Welborn led off the fourth with a double and was driven around one batter later when Jesse Baker smacked a triple into the gap in right center. Perucki delivered another RBI triple two batters later and was followed by Horacio Correa's RBI single to push the Roadrunners lead to 8-0.

Tony Ramirez and Perucki delivered RBI singles in the fifth and C.J. Pickering pulled a two-run double inside the third base bag to score both Ramirez and Perucki to complete a four-run inning.

UTSA outscored St. Peter's 15-0 in the fifth inning during the three-game series.

Perucki concluded his stellar afternoon with two more RBIs in the sixth and extend the Roadrunners lead to the final tally of 14-0.

Jeremy Filipek and Matt Sims each threw a perfect inning of relief behind Anderson's five-inning two-hit performance for the Roadrunners second shutout of the weekend. Anderson struck out five of the 16 batters he faced and the three UTSA hurlers combined for eight strikeouts against zero walks.

St. Peter's (0-3) failed to get a baserunner past second base.

UTSA will look to remain undefeated on Tuesday when it hosts Houston Baptist (3-0) at 6 p.m.
