SAN ANTONIO — UTSA returns to the friendly confines of Roadrunner Field on Tuesday night when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a battle of former Southland Conference foes. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Roadrunners (18-13) are coming off back-to-back wins at Seattle last weekend. The Birds captured the two contests by scores of 8-1 and 8-4 before the series finale was cancelled due to rain.

UTSA received a pair of strong pitching performances to win its first Western Athletic Conference set.

Brock Hartson allowed just one run in seven innings of six-hit ball last Friday, while Jordan Pacheco improved to 7-1 after six innings of relief in which he yielded three runs on four hits.

Meanwhile, the Roadrunners' offense batted .303 with six extra-base hits (4 2B/2 HR) and scored 16 runs against the Redhawks.

Daniel Rockett leads the league's top offensive team with a .475 batting average, while RJ Perucki is hitting .380 and holds team highs with 10 doubles, eight home runs and 31 RBIs.

UTSA will send left-hander Nolan Trabanino (3-2, 3.78 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday night.

The Islanders (19-12) have won five consecutive contests, including a three-game sweep at Nicholls last weekend. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi outscored the Colonels, 17-3.

The Islanders, who are hitting .281 as a team, are led by Eric Weiss' .345 batting average. Jonathan Gonzales is the squad's top power threat with four homers and 28 RBIs.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, which has limited its opponents to an average of 2.2 runs over the last five games, will send southpaw Adam Hoelscher (1-3, 5.45 ERA).

Tuesday marks the 48th meeting all-time between the two clubs with UTSA holding a 26-21 edge. The Roadrunners routed the Islanders in the only matchup this season, a decisive 19-4 victory on Feb. 20, in Corpus Christi. UTSA is 15-6 all-time against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in San Antonio and has won the last three meetings at Roadrunner Field.
