Grady Little to serve as keynote speaker at inaugural First Pitch Banquet

SAN ANTONIO — Former Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers manager Grady Little will serve as the keynote speaker for UTSA Baseball's inaugural First Pitch Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

The event begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Main Campus University Center Ballroom.

Little recorded 358 victories in four seasons as a manager in Major League Baseball. He led the Red Sox to a 95-67 record and a berth in the 2003 American League Championship Series and guided the Dodgers to the National League Championship Series three years later. He managed 10 players who were named All-Stars, including Johnny Damon, Russell Martin, Pedro Martinez and Manny Ramirez and 2006 NL Comeback Player of the Year Nomar Garciaparra.

Tickets for the event, which includes dinner, are $65 per seat and other sponsorship opportunities are available. Priority seating will be given to those who purchase tickets at the $1,000 level and above before Jan. 30.
