KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Fabiola Arriaga and Taylor Newlin tied for 39th place to lead UTSA to a 14th-place showing at the rain-shortened Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, which concluded on Sunday at Cherokee Country Club (par 71/5,897 yards).

Arriaga led all Roadrunners on the final day by firing a two-over-par 73, while Newlin turned in a 75. Arriaga (76-73) and Newlin (74-75) finished the 36-hole tournament, which was cut short by 18 holes due to heavy rains on Saturday, at seven-over-par 149.

Brogan Townend was three shots back of the senior duo in a tie for 56th (152) after matching Newlin's 75 on Sunday. Aimee Ponte and Libby Thomas tied for 74th (75-80—155) and 84th (74-83—157), respectively, to round out the Roadrunners lineup.

UTSA entered the final round in a tie for 15th after a 299 on Friday and the Birds moved up one spot in the standings thanks to a final-round 303, which put them one spot ahead of Mississippi and Rollins (603) and two strokes in front of Missouri (604).

Arkansas claimed the team title with a five-under 563 (282-281) behind individual winner Emily Tubert's five-under 137 (69-68). The Razorbacks were followed by South Carolina (571), Tulane (579), Tennessee (581) and UCF (582).

UTSA will return to action in three weeks when they travel to Austin for the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational (Oct. 13-15).
