Thomas finishes fourth at Texas-Oklahoma Girls Open Championship on Thursday

WICHITA FALLS — Freshman-to-be Libby Thomas fired a four-under-par 68 on Thursday to finish fourth at the annual Texas-Oklahoma Girls Open Championship division with a 290 (76-71-75-68).

The Midland native saved her best round for last and her score was one of just three in the 60s on the final day. Thomas also broke par with a 71 in Tuesday’s second round, which was sandwiched around a 76 and 75.

A total of 53 players took part in the tournament and Sarah Moore of Burkburnett took medalist honors at 279 (73-68-71-67).

The four-day event was played at The Champions Course at Weeks Park, Wichita Falls Country Club and River Creek Park Golf Course.
