UTSA begins play at Dale McNamara Invitational on Monday
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Junior Fabiola Arriaga is tied for seventh place on the individual leaderboard after 36 holes of the Dale McNamara Invitational, which began on Monday at the Golf Club of Oklahoma (par 72/6,282 yards).
The Torreon, Mexico, native opened the day with a one-under-par 71 that featured three birdies before shooting a 73 in the second round for an opening-day total of 144. Arriaga added a pair of birdies during her final 18 holes of the day, but she also carded three bogeys.
Classmate Chelsea Bretcher collected four birdies en route to a pair of 78s and she sits in 53rd, while senior Paola Valerio carded a 157 (78-79) and is tied for 59th place. Meanwhile, junior Taylor Newlin is tied for 67th (161=84-77) and freshman Allie Johnston is 69th (163=80-83).
The Roadrunners, who sit in 12th place, recorded identical rounds of 307 for a 614 they are 11 strokes out of the top 10. No. 4 Arizona State leads the 15-team field with a 572 (280-292), while Florida’s Isabelle Lendl leads the field by two strokes following her 138 (71-67).
The final round will tee off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
