Roadrunners to compete at Administaff Lady Jaguars Intercollegiate

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women’s golf team will look for another high finish when it travels to Augusta, Ga., to compete at the Administaff Lady Jaguars Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament begins on Sunday at Forest Hills Gold Club. The 17-team field will play two rounds on Sunday followed by the final 18 holes on Monday.

Where: Forest Hills Golf Club – Augusta, Ga.

When: Sunday, March 13 – Monday, March 14

Format: Two-day event with shotgun start for Sunday's first two rounds and tee times for Monday’s final 18 holes

Teams: Augusta State, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Lamar, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Princeton, #8 Purdue, SMU, Southern Mississippi, UAB, UALR, UTSA, Western Carolina, William & Mary, Wofford, Xavier.

Fabiola Arriaga (Fr. – Torreon, Mexico)
· Tied for 16th at the Chip-N Club Invitational, Sept. 13-14
· Fourth on the squad with a 76.06 stroke average
· Low round of the season was a 71 at the UCF Challenge, Feb. 13-15
· Recorded a 74 in her first collegiate round

Summer Batiste (Jr. – Austin, Texas)
· Best finish of the year was tied for 13th at the Alamo Invitational, Oct. 31-Nov. 2
· Tied for 20th at the Islander Classic, Feb. 28-March 1
· Second on the team with a 75.58 stroke average
· Only player to record an eagle on the season
· 2009-10 second-team All-Southland

Shannon Jungman (Jr. – Pflugerville, Texas)
· Will be making her fifth appearance of the season
· Tied for 17th at the Alamo Invitational, Oct. 31-Nov. 2
· Fifth on the squad with a 78.18  stroke average
· Shot a career-best 72 in the first round of the Alamo Invitational

Taylor Newlin (Fr. – Frisco, Texas)
· Finished tied for fourth in her first collegiate tournament, the Chip-N Club Invitational, Sept. 13-14
· Third on the team with a 76 stroke average
· Shot a 69 at the Mercedes-Benz Women's Championship, Oct. 8-10
· Finished in the top 15 three times this season

Paola Valerio (So. – Mexico City, Mexico)
· Set school records with a 66 and 54-hole score of 212 to finish fifth at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships, Oct. 8-10.
· Two-time Southland Conference Golfer of the Month (October 2010/February 2011)
· Leads the team with a 73.94 stroke average
· Finished in the top-10 four times this year and tied for second at the Islander Classic, Feb. 28-March 1
· 2010 first-team All-Southland Conference
