SAN ANTONIO — Fabiola Arriaga will compete in the NCAA West Regional, which will be hosted by the University of Washington from May 8-10 at Tumble Creek Club (par 72/6,252 yards) at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash. Arriaga will tee off at 10:25 a.m. (CT) in Thursday's opening round.
Making her fourth consecutive NCAA appearance, Arriaga was one of 18 individuals selected for the championship and she will compete against five other individuals and players from 24 teams at the West Regional. The field will play 18 holes with tee times beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CT) each day and live scoring will be available here.
The top eight teams and top two individuals not on the advancing teams from each of the nation’s three regionals will move on to the NCAA Championship, which is scheduled for May 20-23 in Tulsa, Okla.
Arriaga captured the Conference USA Championship on April 21-23 in Gulf Shores, Ala., carding a conference-record-tying nine-under-par 207 (68-69-70) to win the crown by four strokes. The Torreon, Mexico, native became the third individual league champion in the program’s nine-year history while registering her second outright win and 15th career top-10 finish.
Arriaga was named first-team All-Conference USA on April 30 in a vote by the league’s head coaches, as she became the first player program history to earn four first-team all-conference certificates. She has registered two straight top-two and five top-20 finishes this season and owns a pair of outright wins and 15 top-10 showings during her UTSA career.
Arriaga finished 62nd (74-80-72—226) at the 2013 NCAA Central Regional, 84th at the 2012 NCAA Central Regional (77-84-78—239) and 84th (79-78-81—238) at the 2011 West Regional in her previous NCAA appearances.
