SAN ANTONIO — UTSA women's golf signee Nikki Long recently capped a brilliant career at San Antonio Johnson High School by winning her regional meet and earning all-state honors.

Long carded a 67-70—137 to win the UIL Class 5A Region IV Tournament by nine strokes on April 16-17 at Scott Schreiner Golf Course in Kerrville.

That performance earned Long a spot in the state tournament in Austin, where she posted a 72-76—148 on April 28-29 at Onion Creek Club to tie for eighth place and garner first-team all-state accolades.

It marked the second straight first-team all-state certificate for Long, who posted a 72-72—144 to place fourth at last year's state championship. A member of the San Antonio Express-News Super Team and a four-time all-district performer, Long will join the Roadrunners this fall.
