Roadrunners to begin seven-match road trip this weekend
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will begin a seven-match road trip this weekend with a pair of contests at No. 47 Middle Tennessee and Lipscomb. The Roadrunners will match up with the Blue Raiders at 3 p.m. on Friday before taking on the Bisons at 6 p.m. the following evening.
UTSA (4-2) won its last outing with a 6-1 decision against Lamar last Saturday. The Roadrunners dropped the doubles point, but they stormed back to win all six singles tilts.
The duo of Martin Ayala and Diogo Casa have been perfect this spring, posting a 6-0 record at the top spot, while Tyler Brown leads the singles contingent with a 5-1 mark at the No. 3 position.
Middle Tennessee (7-3) has won four of its last five matches, including a 4-3 victory at No. 35 North Carolina State on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Lipscomb (2-3), which plays Murray State on Friday, is coming off a sweep of North Alabama last Saturday. The Bisons' only other win this spring came in a 4-3 decision against Abilene Christian on Feb. 8.
