SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will return to the court this week with a pair of Southland Conference matches. The Roadrunners will travel to Lamar for a 3 p.m. contest on Thursday before hosting UT Arlington at 11 a.m. two days later.
UTSA (9-9, 1-1 SLC) has won its last two matches, but it has not played a league match since sweeping Texas-Pan American on March 2.
Freshman David Kelleher will take a four-match winning streak into Thursday's contest. The Cooper City, Fla., native owns a team-best 12-3 record in singles play this spring. Meanwhile, sophomore Yannick Junger stands at 12-6 and he has won his last two outings.
The Cardinals (6-6, 0-1 SLC) dropped their conference opener to Nicholls last Sunday. Rob Lee leads Lamar in singles action with a 7-5 record, while he and Marton Horvath have collected four wins at No. 1 doubles.
The Mavericks (6-10, 0-2 SLC) have won two of their last three matches, including a 6-1 decision against Northern Arizona last Sunday. Yauheni Yakauleu has won his last five tilts at the No. 3 singles position and is 6-4 overall, while the doubles pairing of Mindaugas Celedinas and Soren Goritzka owns an 8-3 ledger at the top spot.
