Roadrunners blank UMBC, 7-0

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA cruised past UMBC with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday at the UTSA Tennis Center.

The Roadrunners (7-8) took down the Retrievers (5-7) in all three doubles matches, including an 8-2 victory for sophomore Kolby Kilgo and junior Hugo Guanais at the third spot.

UTSA carried their success into singles play by winning all six matches in straight sets.

Sophomore Oliver Breininger and senior Daniel Moser cruised to 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 victories, respectively.

Meanwhile, sophomore Yannick Junger won his second consecutive match and improved his singles record to team-leading 10-5 by defeating Cristian Hodel, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

The Roadrunners will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Lubbock to take on No. 29 Texas Tech at 1 p.m.
