SAN ANTONIO The UTSA men's tennis team will conclude its current seven-match road trip on Sunday with a 1 p.m. non-conference tilt at No. 17 Texas Tech.

The Roadrunners (9-6) will be matching up with their second consecutive nationally-ranked Big 12 opponent. On Thursday night, UTSA dropped a 6-1 decision at sixth-ranked Texas. Junior Daniel Moser gained the team's lone win with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 victory against Ben Chen at No. 6 singles.

Sophomores Martin Ayala and Tyler Brown are tied for the team lead with identical 11-4 marks in singles action to pace the Roadrunners. Meanwhile, Ayala and senior Daniel Moreiras make up the squad's most successful doubles pair at 8-3.

Texas Tech (11-4) has won its last five matches, including a sweep of No. 48 UNLV on March 12 at the Linda Estes Tennis Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

The Red Raiders boast a pair of top-ranked singles players and doubles teams. Gonzalo Escobar, the nation's 18th-ranked player, is 10-4 in singles play this spring. Escobar and Vitor Manzini make up the nation's 42nd-ranked doubles duo with a 10-5 mark. Raony Carvalho enters the contest with a perfect 13-0 record and is ranked 21st nationally. Carvalho and Rafael Garcia also make up the 26th-ranked doubles pair. The duo has posted a 7-7 mark this spring.
