Hogan guides Roadrunners to 17th at Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Brett Hogan tied for 40th place to lead UTSA to a 17th-place finish at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, which wrapped up on Saturday at UNM Championship Golf Course (par 72/7,562 yards).

Hogan completed the 54-hole tournament with a 230 (77-74-79) to wind up in a nine-way tie for 40th at 14-over-par in the 104-player field. It marked the second consecutive event that the sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, finished as the top Roadrunner.

Bryce Alley and Ryan Werre posted the low rounds for UTSA, with each carding a five-over 77. Alley tied for 65th (79-79-77—235) and Werre tied for 84th (83-80-77—240). Garrison Lackey and J.J. Lindsey finished 88th (79-79-83—241) and 91st (77-83-82—242), respectively.

The Roadrunners carded a 315 to follow a pair of 312s on Friday and finish with a 939, five shots behind Wichita State's 934 (298-315-321). Tournament host New Mexico claimed the team title with a one-under 863 (290-292-281) behind Andrej Bevins and Gavin Green, who both finished at five-under 211 to lead all individuals. Arizona State was second (881), followed by USC (887), UNLV (888) and BYU (894).

UTSA will return to action on Oct. 7 when it plays at the two-day Jerry Pate National Invitational.
