SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will travel to the Sunshine State this weekend for the 75th edition of the Pepsi Florida Relays. The two-day meet is scheduled to get underway on Friday morning at Percy Beard Track in Gainesville, Fla. The event also has been tabbed as one of U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s Division I National Meets of the Week.

All the action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (CT) both days (click here for complete schedule).

The women are coming off a busy weekend that saw them record nine victories, incuding a pair of program-record performances, at a total of three meets. Leading the way was the junior college transfer duo of Angel Sifuentes and Lindsey Pew, who both competed at Friday's Trinity Tigers Relays.

Sifuentes broke the Roadrunners' 14-year-old school mark in the javelin with her winning throw of 143-1 (43.62m), which now stands second in Conference USA this spring. That eclipsed Karen Wilkinson's previous standard of 142-8 (43.50m), which was established during the 1990 campaign.

Meanwhile, Pew cleared 12-9 ½ (3.90m) en route to tying for top honors in the pole vault. That erased teammate April Benavidez's two-year-old record by four inches and moved her into third place on the league leaderboard. Benavidez collected a bronze medal with her clearance of 11-9 ¾ (3.60m).

Meanwhile, All-American Keyunta Hayes raced to the nation's second-fastest 400-meter hurdles time at the Texas Relays, Phil Steinert broke his program hammer record for the second consecutive weekend at the same meet and the UTSA men received three victories at Friday's Trinity Tigers Relays.
