Thompson victorious at Texas State Elite meet
SAN MARCOS — Kerry Thompson tied for top honors in the high jump to lead the UTSA men's track & field team at Saturday's Texas State Elite meet.
Thompson cleared 6-10 ¾ (2.10m) and tied with UCLA's Cody Crampton and Arkansas' Noah Kittelson and Dwayne Golbek for the top spot in the standings.
The Roadrunners also received runner-up performances from Christopher Hall in the 400 meters (47.13), Roscoe Robinson in the long jump (23-3 ½/7.10m) and Jumarcus Shelvin in the 400m hurdles (52.47).
Meanwhile, Eric Gosset (800m), Jonas Gutierrez (110m hurdles) and Robinson (triple jump) all picked up bronze medals during the one-day meet.
No. 12 UCLA won the team championship with 149 points and UTSA finished with 69.5.
The Roadrunners will return to action next weekend at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (March 27-30) and Trinity Tigers Relays (March 29).
