SAN ANTONIO — One week after hosting their first on-campus home meet in 19 years, the UTSA men's and women's track & field teams will send their athletes to three different meets this weekend.

A select few Roadrunners will compete from Thursday-Saturday at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, while four distance runners will travel to Houston on Friday for the Victor Lopez Bayou Classic and the remainder of the squads will particpate in Friday's Trinity Tigers Relays in the Alamo City.

The UTSA men received six winning performances and also saw two school records fall en route to a runner-up performance at last weekend's UTSA Texas Challenge Invitational at the Park West Athletics Complex.

All-Ameican Richard Garrett Jr. was tabbbed Conference USA Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following his efforts at the two-day meet. The Garland native heaved the shot put 64-3 ½ (19.59m) to easily win the event by more than three feet and he now sits atop the NCAA standings. The measurement was an improvement of more than two feet from his previous career best (62-2 ½/18.96m) and he also broke his school mark in a runner-up effort in the discus (183-8/56.00m) in addition to adding a third-place showing in the hammer (PR 187-7/57.19m). Meanwhile, fellow All-American Keyunta Hayes swept both hurdles events.

The women got winning performances from Ernestine Cray (long jump), Samantha Fish (3,000m steeplechase) and Nina Herrera (1,500m) en route to a third-place finish in the team standings.
