Roadrunners to compete at Bobcat Classic this weekend
SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA track & field squads will return to action this weekend at the Bobcat Classic. The two-day meet gets underway on Friday at the Texas State Track & Field Stadium.
The opening day will feature just two events. The hammer throw will take place at 11 a.m. and the discus will be contested four hours later. Saturday's competition will begi at 9 a.m. with the 5,000 meters and field events are scheduled to start an hour later with the javelin, long jump and pole vault. The Roadrunners will compete against athletes from Dallas Baptist, Houston, Houston Baptist, Huston-Tillotson, McNeese State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Oklahoma, Prairie View A&M, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas State.
The event will be UTSA's final tune-up for the Southland Conference Championships, which are scheduled for May 11-13 in San Marcos.
