Track & field squads back in acton on Saturday at Texas Invitational
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will return to action on Saturday at the Texas Invitational. The single-day meet is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Teams expected to compete alongside the Roadrunners include Houston, Houston Baptist, Prairie View A&M, Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Southern, Texas State and UT Arlington.
Several elite athletes are also expected to compete in the meet on the men’s side including Aaron Armstrong (100m/200m), Carey Lacour (100m/200m), Michael Tinsley (200m/400m), Mychal Dungey (200m), Reggie Witherspoon (200m), Jeremy Wariner (400m), Marcus Boyd (400m) and Jerome Miller (110m hurdles).
UTSA has won a total of 14 events and set two school records the last two weeks, while the women have picked up a dozen gold medals to go along with one new program mark. The Roadrunners enter the weekend leading the Southland Conference standings in seven events and the women sit atop the leaderboard in three disciplines.
