HOUSTON — Ernestine Cray and Grace Williamson both captured gold medals to lead the UTSA women's track & field team at Friday's Houston Tune-Up.

Cray skipped to a career-long measurement of 41-2 ¼ (12.55m) to top the field of 20 in the triple jump. The senior's second personal best in as many weeks was nearly a five-inch improvement from the mark she registered at last weekend's Armory Collegiate Invitational.

Meanwhile, Williamson won her first race of the season in the 800 meters after crossing the finish line in 2:14.47. The senior from Houston edged Texas Southern's Tierra McGowan by four tenths of a second to top the field of 20 distance runners and it marked the fourth victory of her four-year career.

The Roadrunners also received a runner-up performance from Whitney Flannel in the high jump. The junior cleared 5-5 (1.65m) to finish as the meet's top collegian.

UTSA also saw four athletes win bronze medals.

Madeline Hurdt (43-0 ¾/13.12m/shot put), Grace Kohler (PR 10:31.01/3k), Lindey Pew (12-5 ½/3.80m/pole vault) and Stephanie Wangui (2:16.50/800m) all finished third in their respective events.

The Roadrunners will return to action in two weeks at the Conference USA Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The two-day meet is scheduled to get underway on Friday, Feb. 28.
