Southern Mississippi game moved to Thursday, Nov. 13
IRVING — Conference USA announced Tuesday that UTSA’s home game against Southern Mississippi has been moved to Thursday, Nov. 13, to accommodate a national television broadcast.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, television information and a kickoff time for the inaugural meeting between the programs will be announced at a later date.
The Roadrunners now will play two of their six home contests on a Thursday, as the home opener against Arizona recently was moved to Sept. 4, also for national TV. They will be the first two non-Saturday contests in program history.
UTSA, which posted a 7-5 overall record and 6-2 mark in its inaugural campaign as a member of Conference USA in 2013, will kick off the 2014 season on Saturday, Aug. 30, at Houston. The second all-time meeting with the Cougars will be the first-ever game in the brand new Houston Football Stadium.
The Roadrunners began spring drills last Wednesday and will host an open scrimmage at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at Smithson Valley High School’s Rangers Stadium. The Fourth Annual UTSA Football Fiesta Spring Game presented by HealthTexas will be played at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Alamodome.
