NEW ORLEANS, La. — Sun Belt Conference officials announced Thursday that UTSA's 2012 season opener at South Alabama will be broadcast by ESPN3. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

It will mark the first of three Roadrunners contests that will be broadcast this season. UTSA's tilts at Rice (Oct. 13) and Louisiana Tech (Nov. 3) will be televised by FOX College Sports and ESPN Regional Television, respectively.

The Roadrunners are coming off a 4-6 inaugural campaign that saw them establish NCAA startup program records for first-game (56,743) and single-season (35,521) attendance.

ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually. It currently is available to 73 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. The network also is available free of charge to approximately 21 million United States college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks. Events also can be seen on mobile devices through the Watch ESPN app.

Season tickets currently are on sale for the UTSA's second season, which will be the program's first and only in the Western Athletic Conference before it moves to Conference USA in 2013. Click here or call (210) 458-UTSA (8872) for more information on purchasing tickets. Single-game tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8.
