HOUSTON — Rice officials announced Thursday that its Saturday, Oct. 13, game against UTSA will kick off at 2:30 p.m. at Rice Stadium. The non-conference tilt will be the first meeting between the two schools.
Meanwhile, the Roadrunners also announced that their future 2015 contest against Sam Houston State has been cancelled to accommodate the upcoming Conference USA schedule.
UTSA, which will begin its second season of play on Thursday, Aug. 30, at South Alabama, is coming off a 4-6 inaugural campaign that saw it establish new NCAA startup program records for first-game (56,743) and single-season (35,521) attendance.
Season tickets currently are on sale for the upcoming campaign, which will be the Roadrunners' first and only in the Western Athletic Conference before they move to Conference USA in 2013.
