SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close out its regular season this weekend with a pair of road matches at Southern Mississippi and No. 75 South Alabama.

The Roadrunners (9-14) will play the Golden Eagles (10-9) at 2 p.m. on Friday at the USM Tennis Courts and then face the Jaguars (15-7) at the same time the next day (please note change from original date of Sunday, April 13) at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

UTSA snapped a three-match skid by slipping past Rice, 4-3, on April 3 in Houston. Tomas Stillman improved to 19-2 on the year while extending his singles winning streak to six. Diogo Casa also helped propel the Roadrunners past the Owls by claiming the final two points in the third set of his singles match to clinch the victory. Meanwhile, Yannick Junger and Boburjon Kamiljanov earned their seventh win of the season and now have been victorious in their last four outings.

Southern Miss rolled to a 6-1 victory against Alcorn State last Saturday by taking five of six singles contests in the process. Chao-Yu Huang collected his third consecutive victory and improved to a team-best 13-5 on the year.

Meanwhile, South Alabama swept all three doubles matches and claimed four singles contests in straight sets to earn a 6-1 win against Old Dominion last Saturday. Tuki Jacobs and Daniel Leitner both lead the team with 14 singles triumphs and Leitner has posted a perfect 5-0 record in doubles play when paired with Gerhard Gruindelingh. The Jaguars have won four out of their last five matches.

In its last meetings with both teams, UTSA defeated South Alabama, 4-2, on March 1, 2013, but it lost later that month to Southern Miss, 4-1.
