Dahnert named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week

SAN ANTONIO – Tessa Dahnert was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for her play in UTSA's weekend defeats of Rice and North Texas, the league announced on Monday.

The Cedar Park native accounted for nine of UTSA’s 18 team blocks against Rice and she totaled 11  to go along with 10 kills and 17.5 points to help the Roadrunners (15-7) improve to 7-1 in C-USA play. The freshman averaged 1.38 blocks per set, 2.19 points per set and chipped in five digs in the pair of home conference victories.

Dahnert now is averaging 1.20 blocks per set this season.

UTSA will embark on a three-match road trip that begins on Sunday at UTEP (11-7, 5-2 C-USA).
