UTSA in eighth place after two rounds of The "Mo"Morial
BRYAN — Fabiola Arriaga is tied for eighth place and the UTSA women’s golf team also is in eighth with 18 holes remaining at The “Mo”Morial, which continued on Tuesday at Traditions Golf Club (par 72/6,206 yards).
Arriaga followed a one-under par 71 on Monday with a 76 and is part of a group of five players who sit five strokes behind 36-hole leader, Haley Mills of Kentucky, who has carded a two-under 142 (70-72).
Brogan Townend posted the squad’s low round of the day with a one-over 73 and she is tied for 26th at 151 (78-73). Taylor Newlin (77-81—158) and Aimee Ponte (78-80—158) are tied for 49th and Chelsea Bretcher checks in at 59th (79-85—165).
The Roadrunners turned in a 310 on Tuesday and are one shot behind Texas A&M's "B” team and nine back of Florida State (603). Kentucky leads the 12-team field at 10-over 586 (294-292), followed by Texas A&M "A" and Virginia (594) and UCF and East Carolina (596).
The third and final round is slated to tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
