SAN ANTONIO — UTSA's track & field teams will return to action on Saturday at a pair of meets. The Roadrunners will return to Austin for the Longhorns Invitational, while the distance crew will head over to Houston for the J. Fred Duckett Twilight.

Field events at the non-scored Longhorns Invitational will start at noon and the running action will begin three hours later. Texas Wesleyan will join nationally-ranked Texas (No. 6 men/No. 7 women) and the Roadrunners at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Meanwhile, UTSA's distance runners will compete in the 1,500 meters, 3,000m steeplechase and 5k beginning at 8 p.m. at Holloway Track/Ley Field. The meet will feature more than 450 athletes from 12 different schools.

Ernestine Cray was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after winning the triple jump for the second time to open her season at last Saturday's Texas Invitational. She skipped to a career-long and league-leading measurement of 42-2 ¾ (12.87m) on her sixth and final attempt of the afternoon and now ranks 15th on the national leaderboard. Alyssa Diaz also sits atop the league standings in the 10,000 meters (35:24.07) and the Roadrunners women have captured a total of 10 gold medals this spring.

Meanwhile, Roscoe Robinson paced the men for the second consecutive meet following his victory in the long jump at the Texas Invitational. He recorded with a wind-aided leap of 25-4 ¾ (7.74m) and surpassed the 25-foot barrier for the second time in as many outings. Robinson continues to lead the WAC standings and ranks fifth on the national leaderboard (25-9 ¼/7.85m). Joshua Smith recorded a conference-leading 51.44 in a third-place finish in the 400m hurdles last Saturday and he moved into 18th in the NCAA standings. UTSA currently resides atop the league rankings in three other events (Christopher Hall, 400m/Kerry Thompson, high jump/1,600m relay).
