SAN ANTONIO — UTSA officially reported for its second fall camp in program history on Friday morning at Chaparral Village on the Main Campus.
Ninety-nine Roadrunners will comprise the preseason roster, which can be as high as 105 per NCAA rules. The first of 25 two-a-day workouts is scheduled for Sunday at Dub Farris Stadium.
Head coach Larry Coker announced that sophomore tight end David Morgan will miss the 2012 season due to a leg injury.
UTSA returns 47 letterwinners and a total of 21 starters (10 offense/9 defense/2 kickers) from last season’s club that posted a 4-6 record.
The Roadrunners are coming off an inaugural campaign that saw them establish NCAA startup program records for first-game (56,743) and single-season (35,521) attendance.
UTSA will open the season on Thursday, Aug. 30, at South Alabama. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and the contest will be broadcast on ESPN3. The Roadrunners’ home opener is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, against Texas A&M-Commerce.
Season tickets currently are on sale for the team’s second season of play, which will be the program's first and only in the Western Athletic Conference before it moves to Conference USA in 2013. Fans can click here or call (210) 458-UTSA (8872) for more information on purchasing tickets. Single-game tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8.
