Tom Scanlon is in his second year as assistant equipment manager at UTSA. He is responsible for preparing game helmets and uniforms, supervising student managers and assisting the equipment manager with day-to-day duties.

Scanlon came to UTSA from Marshall, where he was a graduate assistant equipment manager for 15 months. He ordered equipment, maintained and assisted with game day preparation for all of the Thundering Herd's sports.

He spent four years as a student equipment manager with the Florida State football program from 2005-09.

The Lake Worth, Fla., native also gained NFL experience by working a pair of preseason camps with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-10.

Scanlon earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Florida State in 2009 and his master’s degree in education from Marshall in 2011.
