Season opener at Houston moved to ESPNU
BRISTOL, Conn. — ESPN announced Tuesday that the Friday, Aug. 29, season opener between UTSA and Houston, scheduled for 8 p.m. at the brand new Houston Football Stadium, now will be shown on ESPNU rather than ESPNews.
The contest will be the first of three non-Saturday games for the Roadrunners this fall, which will be a first in program history. UTSA will open its home slate against Arizona on Thursday, Sept. 4, and the Southern Miss home tilt will be played on Thursday, Nov. 13. All three of the non-Saturday matchups will be shown on national television.
The Cougars won the inaugural meeting between the two programs, 59-28, on Sept. 28, 2013, at the Alamodome.
The Roadrunners posted a 7-5 overall record and 6-2 mark in their inaugural campaign as a member of Conference USA a year ago.
