IRVING — Fabiola Arriaga was named Conference USA Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Arriaga earned runner-up honors to help lead the Roadrunners to a fourth-place finish at last weekend's rain-shortened Dallas Athletic Club/SMU Invitational. She carded rounds of 75 and 71 for a two-over-par 146 in recording her top finish since also placing second at the 2012 Golfweek Conference Challenge. It marked the 14th top-10 collegiate finish for the Torreon, Mexico, native. Arriaga's performance helped UTSA finish ahead of a pair of top-20 teams (No. 15 Oklahoma State/No. 16 Wake Forest) and five total top-50 squads in the 16-team field.

Arriaga's weekly award is the first earned by the program since joining Conference USA this season.

The Roadrunners, who are ranked No. 58 by Golfstat this week, will return to action this weekend when they travel to Waco to face 40th-ranked Baylor in a head-to-head match. The two-day event is scheduled to tee off on Friday at Ridgewood Country Club.
