UTSA women to face Tulane on Thursday
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue its season-ending four-match road trip on Thursday when it faces Tulane at 1 p.m. at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center in New Orleans, La.
The Roadrunners (10-9) saw their five-match winning streak came to an end last weekend after falling at No. 67 North Texas on Saturday by a score of 5-2. UTSA then dropped a 4-2 decision at SMU the following afternoon.
Miriam Rosell Canudas pushed her singles winning streak to 11 contests with two more victories over the weekend. The freshman from Barcelona, Spain, now is a team-best 16-3 this year at the No. 2 singles position and she has won 20 of the last 21 sets she has played.
However, Rosell Canudas and Jacobea Junger’s 11-match winning streak at top doubles spot came to an end on Saturday at North Texas. The duo, which dropped its second consecutive outing the next day at SMU, owns a 12-3 mark this spring.
Tulane (4-18) took No. 54 LSU to the brink before coming up short of an upset in a 4-2 setback to the Tigers last Wednesday. The Green Wave will bring a 10-match losing streak into Thursday's match.
