Adams earns Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive Monday
IRVING — McKenzie Adams was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week, the league office announced on Monday. It marked the fifth time Adams has received the award this season and sixth weekly honor overall.
The reigning Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week continued to add to her impressive resume with her 21st double-double of the season in Friday's sweep of UAB. The senior outside hitter racked up 23 kills and a dozen digs in UTSA's sixth consecutive victory (11th in last 12 outings). She averaged 7.67 kills and eight points per set to go along with a .308 hitting percentage in the squad's lone match of the week. The Schertz native also pitched in with four digs per frame and did not record a reception error in 20 attempts.
The Roadrunners (19-7, 11-1 C-USA) currently are tied with Tulsa (22-5, 11-1 C-USA) atop the conference standings and the two teams will meet in Sunday's regular season finale at the Convocation Center.
UTSA first will host East Carolina (13-17, 3-9 C-USA) at 7 p.m. on Friday.
