Roadrunners to host Denver on Sunday
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close out its home schedule on Sunday when it hosts Denver in a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) match. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (11-9, 2-0 WAC) have won three of their last four outings, including a 4-0 victory against Utah State last Friday.
Diogo Casa and David Kelleher lead the Birds in singles actions with identical 12-7 records, while Casa and Martin Ayala have netted a 14-3 mark in doubles play.
The Pioneers (6-11, 2-0 WAC) will bring a three-match winning streak into the contest, including a 5-2 win last Sunday at New Mexico State.
Enej Bonin, the nation's 50th-ranked singles player, leads Denver with an 8-3 record, while Bonin and Jens Vorkefeld have collected four wins in doubles action.
