SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close out its regular season this weekend with a pair of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matches in Moscow, Idaho.

The Roadrunners (6-11, 1-5 WAC) will face No. 66 San Jose State at 12 p.m. on Friday and Seattle at the same time the next day at the Memorial Gym Tennis Courts.

UTSA snapped a six-match losing streak last Sunday with a 4-0 victory against New Mexico State.

Jacobea Junger paced the Roadrunners in singles action with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at the top spot, while Isabelle Jonsson and Irene Gandara Gonzalez also netted straight-sets wins at the Nos. 2 and 6 positions, respectively.

Jonsson and Junger pace the Birds with nine victories apiece in singles play this spring, while Junger and Daniela Garcia-Diaz have combined to net seven doubles wins.

The Spartans (14-5, 6-1 WAC) saw their seven-match winning streak come to an end after falling to then-No. 61 Denver, 4-3, last Saturday.

San Jose State is led by Klaudia Boczova, who is the 47th-ranked singles player in the nation. Boczova, who has been tabbed WAC Player of the Week four times this spring, is 11-3 in singles competition.

The Redhawks (5-14, 0-7 WAC) have lost their last four matches and will be looking to grab their first win against a conference opponent this weekend.

Lindsey Newman has collected 10 victories to pace Seattle in singles play.
