LOGAN, Utah — Utah State carried a 1-0 lead into the intermission and later added a
pair of goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 victory against UTSA on Friday at
Chuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field.
Mari Miyashiro put the Aggies (6-2-6, 1-0-2 WAC) on the
board in the 33rd minute off passes from Kylie Dibb and Brooke
Larsen. Utah State took that advantage into halftime despite being outshot, 6-4,
by the Roadrunners (1-8-2, 0-1-2) in the opening stanza.
The score stood there until the 78th minute when Jennifer Flynn made it 2-0. Natalie
Norris goal in the final minute provided the final margin.
The Aggies outshot UTSA, 14-9, in the
second half.
Sophomore Liv Nyhegn and freshman Kauwela Neal led the
Roadrunners with three shots apiece, while goalie Katarina Pus recorded five
saves.
UTSA will look to get back on the winning track at 2 p.m.
(CT) on Sunday when it faces San Jose State (3-8-1, 1-2) at Spartans Stadium.
